Privacy Policy — Dual Subtitles for YouTube

Dual Subtitles for YouTube does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

All data processed by the extension stays on your device:

Data stored locally

• Settings (target language, panel preferences, license key) are stored locally in Chrome's chrome.storage.local and deleted when you uninstall the extension.
• Caption text is processed on the page you are watching. To translate captions, segments of caption text are sent to Google's free translation service (translate.googleapis.com) — Google's general privacy policy applies to those requests. Translated results are cached locally on your device (per video) so replays do not repeat requests; the cache is deleted on uninstall.
• Exported transcripts (SRT / Markdown / TXT) are generated locally from captions already displayed by YouTube and are never uploaded anywhere by this extension.

Purchases and license validation

Payments are processed by Creem (creem.io), our merchant of record. When you purchase a Premium subscription, your payment details are collected and processed by Creem — we never see or store your card details. See Creem's privacy policy for how they process your payment data.

Your license key is sent to our license server (dualsubtitles.net), which forwards the request to Creem's license API (api.creem.io) solely to activate and periodically validate your Premium subscription. No other information accompanies these requests.

Permissions

The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

• storage / alarms — save your settings and periodically re-check your license
• clipboardWrite — copy exported transcripts to your clipboard when you click export
• Host access limited to: youtube.com, youtube-nocookie.com (display captions), translate.googleapis.com (translate), dualsubtitles.net (license validation)

Third-party services

• Google Translate — for machine translation of caption text you watch
• Creem — for payment processing and license validation

Children's privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
